Reimalie Academy College has its roots as a 10+2 and Degree college before transitioning into a dedicated B.Ed. institution. In response to revised criteria set by the Government of Assam, the college was formally established as a B.Ed. college in 2014 with due approval from the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Initially affiliated with Gauhati University, the college shifted its academic affiliation in 2015 following the establishment of Bodoland University, which was created to serve the educational needs of the Lower Assam region.
Reimalie Academy College played a pivotal role in introducing the B.Ed. programme under Bodoland University and proudly became the first B.Ed. college affiliated with the university. The college was actively involved in the formulation of the B.Ed. curriculum and has been a significant contributor to teacher education in the region. It has also served as an official Examination Zone for B.Ed. courses conducted under Bodoland University till 2019.
